Hockey Canada Cancelations

Mar. 12, 2020

Good Evening Pembina Pirates Families,

Most have you have probably seen the news on tv or social media regarding Hockey Canada's decision to cancel all sanctioned activities due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The following is a statement from Hockey Canada which was forwarded to us from Hockey Alberta:

"After much consultation with the Hockey Canada membership, our chief medical officials, the Hockey Canada Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities *, including our national championships, until further notices, effective Friday, March 13 2020."

*Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities include all Hockey Alberta-sanctioned activities (including games, practices, camps and Provincial Championships).

This unfortunately means that our season has officially been canceled. Any scheduled games, tournaments, practices or team activities will be canceled until further notice. Please check your email in the upcoming days for any further updates regarding our AGM (that is postponed until further notice) and registration for next season. Any coaches or managers who have any concerns regarding cancelations please email President Brent McCracken or Vice President Cara Nagy.

We would like to thank all of our families for your commitment to this season and it is unfortunate that it had to end so abruptly. I look forward to seeing all of our players on the ice next season!

Cara Nagy
